S.K. is a new artist that hails from the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia (“Uptown” as it is often called). He was raised by his father and his two grandparents. S.K. has always had a passion for music but decided to take it to the next level and become an artist in 2006. Now, his music is inspiring to all hip hop lovers, his unique style and sound, it gives him the potential to be a top-ranked artist in hip-hop. "I feel I am more dedicated and also more versatile than other artists" S.K. says.
At 23, S.K. knows what it takes and says he will be recognized for his talent in due time. Facing the adversity of never seeing his mother, S.K. says, "All of the trials and tribulations that I been through just inspire me to make better music." By just starting his career as an artist in 2006, S.K. has done a great deal of work in just a short career.
He has headlined shows, made radio appearances and featured on others musical projects. Known for his outstanding work ethic as well as his ability to create exceptional music, being a part of “Jonny Black Marketing Company” has increased his knowledge of the business world and also the business of making music.
S.K. acknowledges that he is influenced by the best and those that he feels worked as hard as he does. Artists such as Jay-Z, 2Pac, Biggie and one of his favorites, Jadakiss have all been heavy influences. "I respect artists like Lil Wayne because he is focused and dedicated to what he does. That is how I know I'm already on the path to greatness. Once I learned that artist like Jay-Z and Lil’ Wayne didn’t write lyrics I began to experiment with the process of making music without writing lyrics.” S.K. says he doesn’t write lyrics because music is natural to him and everything he says is from the heart.
S.K. released his first official mixtape, "Allow Me To Introduce Myself" in June of 2009 and since has also released his first official album, “Destined For Greatness” in December of 2009. With a great deal of support from his listeners, “Destined For Greatness” was a huge success reaching over 1,000 downloads in the first few days. Since the first two releases, S.K. has leaked a great deal of music and says his catalogue is expanding. He has big plans for the future and various upcoming projects so look out and stay tuned.
